Apprenticeships through the Ages

This film was shot at an event held by the National Apprenticeship Service at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard to celebrate the long history of Apprenticeships. The event was hosted by Tony Robinson, and guests included current and ex apprentices spanning some 60 years.

The film highlights the range of apprenticeships available today and interviews include young people in non-stereotypical roles, for example 16 year old Bianca who is training to be an electrical engineer, and 18 year old Rebecca who is training to be a welder.

There are comments from employers and representatives from industry groups on the value of Apprenticeships, and gives food for thought to any young person thinking about their educational options at aged 16 years.
