Jacob is in the yard, he walks underneath a yacht. Now he is inside the sheds sanding wood by hand.
Jacob says “Before I started the apprenticeship I was very unsure of what I wanted to do for a career.”
Diane is outside in the yard
Diane says “He’s got the highest standards in both disciplines and quality of work.”
Jacob says “Having found the apprenticeship at Princess I have never really looked back since. It’s given me many new skills.”
Now we see Jacob talking to camera whilst sat outside on a yacht. Whilst he’s talking we see him in the shed measuring wood.
Diane says “Occasionally you get someone who is outstanding, he’s hard working, and he’s conscientious. He’s been chosen to do work that is outside of the apprenticeships remit.”
We see Jacob inside the yacht cabin checking that the cabinets fit properly, sanding the steps by hand, and screwing down portholes.
Jacob says “I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to work abroad on warranty work; this was in Florida, Italy, Spain and France.”
We see Jacob back on the yacht fitting the base of a seating unit.
Diane says “Getting the materials would have been a big issue for Jacob; he doesn’t speak all the international languages.”
Jacob says “I was very proud that I was able to satisfy the customer, which at the end of the day is the most important thing.”
Jacob and a colleague are working in the sheds together.
Diane says “The nicest thing about Jacob is that he is totally unassuming. He doesn’t expect anything but gives everything.”
Jacob and a colleague are checking the internal fixtures and fixings within the cabin
Jacob says “I see this as the beginning of my career really, because it’s given me the determination to carry on and purse many different areas within the company.”
We see a motor yacht sailing off behind Diane.
Diane says “I’ve got every confidence in what Jacob can achieve, and I see him in the future being one of our managers.”
